The panel exchanged perspectives on trust, autonomy, and the evolving role of developers as agentic systems mature — where AI assistance ends and AI delegation begins, and what that shift means for the people building software.

From software engineering to system stewardship

One idea I shared on stage:

The future "developer" may not primarily write code, but design, supervise, and evolve self-improving agents that continuously generate, test, critique, and refine software systems. We are moving from software engineering toward system stewardship — defining goals, constraints, feedback loops, and trust boundaries for autonomous builders. The most important skill may soon be not coding faster, but orchestrating intelligence responsibly.
